Reliving my childhood

I have been collecting Barbie since the mid ‘80s, that is if you don’t include the beauties I owned as a ‘60s child. My first doll was a Skipper that mysteriously disappeared along with other beloved toys. We suspected a neighbour but had no proof. The serious childhood collection began a couple of years later when my sister and myself received the most awesome Christmas presents! She received a beautiful Chocolate Bon Bon TNT Barbie, and I got a lovely mousey brown Francie. We also received a Ponytail vinyl case each, along with a handful of clothes.
Our collection expanded over the next few years with what are now considered very desirable ensembles and dolls. My sister had the first edition blonde Hair Fair set as well as a titian short flip Stacey. I had Twiggy and a brunette Dramatic Living Barbie. We had so many clothes and accessories that I can write about at a later time, but I have to tell you that some of these beauties were amongst them:

Modern Art
Extravaganza
Guinevere
Dancing Lights These ones stand out to me as they were amongst my favourite items. It’s such a shame when it was time for a family spring clean that our beloved dolls and accessories were gone forever.
Over time I will talk about the other Barbie paraphernalia I have owned or desired since childhood, fully knowing that my collection is probably tiny compared to others, especially now that I have decided to concentrate on buying back my childhood dolls and clothes.
P.S. I have all the dolls now and a handful of the ensembles.
The photo below offers a small snapshot of my re-purchased memories.
